Paris, France

After we emerged from the chunnel, we saw the French countryside.

It started pouring as we arrived on the street where our apartment was. With nothing but French spoken everywhere all of a sudden, and a scarier metro system, Paris started out somewhat stressful.

Eventually however we found our apartment, and relaxed.

The apartment was smaller then our one in London, but more centrally located.

It was located in Les Marais, which is an area popular with younger people currently.

The rain cleared up and we went for a walk around our neighborhood. This little park was originally part of a Palace.

Paris's subway system, the Metro or Metropolitan was a new thing to people when it was first built in the early 20th century. So that children would not be scared of the idea of crawling down into a deep dark hole to ride on a fast moving train, they made these inviting signs. Nothing scary here children!

We walked in a random direction, and ended up at Bastille.

There was an open air market there on Saturday's, so we checked out the goods and yummy foods and things being sold.

The street near our temporary home. All the phramacies had fancy neon signs like the one on the left. All the housing looked like the French Quarter in New Orleans. What copy cats.
