Day 13

San Diego, CA, Sunny, high of 74 degrees

Well, the old pink blazer broke down on us finally. It had been acting up, but finally it kept stalling out enough that we couldn't go anywhere today. So we drove a couple blocks away to the local Shell station and left it there for service. We had to walk back to our hotel. The only attraction within walking distance was the Fashion Valley mall, so we walked there.

The Fashion Valley mall was pretty cool because like most malls out here, it is completely outdoors! It was full of yuppie stores that we enjoyed. Since we had nothing but time today, since our car wasn't going to be ready until night, we saw the new Lord of the Rings movie.

We then walked up a huge hill and back to the Shell station to get our car. Roberto the service guy had replaced our fuel injectors, and spark plugs, and we were on our way.

We drove down to Mission Beach and had dinner and saw the beach. It was foggy and smelly. Mission Beach was alot like Ocean City (see the amusement park in background), but seems much more surfer oriented.
