Day 15

Palm Springs , CA, Sunny, high of 68 degrees

Today we had a big day in Palm Springs. We started out by going to the Joshua Tree National Forest. It was filled with lots of cool Joshua trees (shown to the left), plus rock formations, and lots of other neat desert things. Click here for more pictures of the park.

Of course we saw a couple animals, we saw a neat hawk, and when we sat down for a picnic in the park, we saw this funny little chipmunk. He kept begging for food and wagging his little tail.

After the park, we went to the "Living Desert" which is a collection of desert animals and plants, basically like another zoo. It had one of the dumbest looking animals we've ever seen, shown to the left. It cracks us up. Click here for more animal pictures.

On Thursday nights, the city of Palm Springs closes down the main strip and has a street fair, where local merchants sell only handmade items. It was pretty neat.

We had a great visit in Palm Springs, but have to leave tomorrow morning bright and early (maybe after a dip in the hot tub). Then we're going to Disneyland!!
