Day 19

San Francisco, CA, Cloudy, high of 65 degrees

Since we are nerds, we started out our day in Silicon Valley. Phil wanted to see Apple's headquarters, so we went there. It seemed pretty cool, but we only saw as far as the front lobby because they do not give tours. Boo Apple! Intel at least has a museum!

So with no luck at Apple, we went down the street to Intel. They had a million signs that photography was not allowed on the premisis except in very specific areas. They had a pretty cool museum about the history of Intel that was free.

One part of their tour let you try on a "bunny suit", but we decided not to do that.

We then decided to go into San Francisco. First we saw the Golden Gate Bridge. It isn't anything all that great, but see more pictures of it here.

San Fransico has an area called Pier 39 that is sort of like Harborplace in Baltimore, we ate lunch at the Sea Lion Cafe, where this picture to the left was our view. A bunch of sea lions that arrived in the harbor after the 1989 earthquake and have stuck around ever since.

We went into downtown San Francisco after eating, and it was quite an adventure driving, the streets were narrow, and just like you've seen on TV, they are exteremely steep. Click here to see more pictures of the city.

After finally finding parking, we walked to Chinatown. Chinatown was pretty neat, pretty much what you would expect.
