Day 23

Depart: Las Vegas, NV, 9:30 am, Sunny, 54 degrees

We left Las Vegas today and headed back into Arizona. When we crossed into Arizona, we drove over the Hoover Dam. There was a security checkpoint because of terrorist concerns, however we were not stopped.

We are back into cold weather again, and missing the desert already. We drove up to over 8000 feet in elevation, and went to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon was a little different then we expected and it cost $20! Sheesh! Click here to see more pictures.

We then drove south through Flagstaff, got back on Route 66 and caught this neat sunset with the moon.

Finally we stopped in Winslow, AZ. Kelly stood on a corner, but we didn't see any flat bed Fords slowing down to look at her. We are taking it easy in Holbrook tonight, and will continue our journey homeward on route 66 tommorow.
