Day 4

New Orleans, LA : Sunny, Clear, 73 degrees

Greetings from New Orleans! We had a fun day today in the Big Easy.

We determined that New Orleans consists of 4 types of "stores"; Bars, Art Galleries, Porn Shops, and Souvenier stores, and that is it.

We started out our day with a brief walk around the city. New Orleans has lots of really neat looking homes, but they would all look nicer if someone would just add a coat of paint, everything looks sort of run down. The French Quarter is also right near the ghetto (There was a used car dealer a block from the french quarter, and all the cars were behind a 12 foot fence with barbed wire). After walking around on our own, we signed up for the New Orleans Sprit tour, which was a walking tour around the city, and included a tour of the famous St. Louis graveyard. See some pictures here.

After resting in the afternoon we hit the town again at night, it was pretty much as expected, and Kelly feels that the town is too "rowdy" for her liking. See some pictures from the French Quarter at night here.

We did not eat here, but Phil's dad evidentily owns a seafood restaurant in New Orleans.
