Day 6

Depart: Houston, TX at 8:15 am: Drizzling, 55 degrees

Happy New Years! Today we left Houston in the morning through some rain showers, but once we were out of the city, it was sunny clear skies the rest of the day.

Our drive took us across the windy plains of Texas, and we stopped for lunch in the small town of Seguin..

This is where we grabbed lunch in Seguin. It smelled like beef jerky.

We got to San Antonio around 12:30 and headed into town to see the sights. Click here to see some of the things we saw around town.

We of course had to go see the Alamo. It was cool, but it was surprisingly surrounded on all sides by malls, hotels and other commercial attractions. See pictures of the Alamo here.

After seeing the Alamo, we went to visit the other Spanish missions on the "mission trail". See the ones we visited here.

On our way down the "mission trail", the road was flooded out from the rain the night before, so we had to take a different way.

After seeing the Lion King on Imax, we went into the streets of San Antonio and joined their big party that covered two or three blocks. See more about it here. We finished our night early by celebrating Eastern Time New Years with Champagne courtesy of Kelly's parents and glasses courtesy of Phil's.

Arrive: San Antonio, TX at 12:30pm: Sunny, 72 degrees
