Day 10

Phoenix, AZ, Sunny, high of 80 degrees

We woke up a little later this morning and had breakfast with Julie, Tom, Angie and Tommy. After planning our day, we headed off to see Scottsdale (shown here). It is sort of the old part of town, with lots of stores and such. There were countless Indian Jewlery stores for some reason.

After Scottsdale, we drove down to Tempe and saw Arizona State University, and had lunch at a local college bar, the "Minder Binder". From Tempe we headed up to South mountain and saw the "Mystery Castle". See more about our trip to the castle here.

After leaving the Mystery Castle we drove up to the summit of South mountain. It was somewhat hair-raising because the road up the mountain has lots of bends, and no guardrails! This shot of the Phoenix valley was taken from the top.

A shot of downtown Phoenix from the summit.

Here is a shot from behind Julie's house, what a great view! It's neat because you can hear Coyotes at night. They evidently even roam the streets of the neighborhood.

We finished off our day in Tom and Julie's pool, and played games. It will be sad leaving our temporary home here in Phoenix.
